Information/courses to improve your own health and wellbeing
This is a programme of learning that encourages people to use their gardens and to spend more time connecting with nature as a tool to restore wellbeing and improve physical and mental health. This programme has three courses within it, looking at the benefits of gardens and nature on your own wellbeing, how to identify your affinity for nature, and then how to build your own health and wellbeing plan.
This is a free short introduction to ‘Social and Therapeutic Horticulture’ and where it sits within nature-based interventions and activities.
A free short introduction to ‘What is Green Care?’. This course looks at the range of approaches to using nature based interaction and experience for health, the difference between health promotional and interventive approaches to using nature based interactions and experiences for health as well as some of the different values associated with different approaches.
Should I create…
This short session will give you the information to begin deciding if your idea of creating a project or programme within STH is a great idea, or it needs some additional work. This course will give you the questions, and the tools to really be able to answer the question ‘Should I Create an STH Project?’
Careers in STH
This should give you a broad understanding how the jobs and careers that are available within STH, and how some of those that work within the sector have developed thier own skills and practice.
