Registering and Paying for Courses
Which payment methods can I use?
We currently support online payments via PayPal.
Customers in the UK can also pay by credit/debit card, cheque, bankers draft or via a company invoice. To find out more about these payment methods, please email thrivelearn@thrive.org.uk.
Do you support other currencies like Euros and USD?
Yes. We support 25 currencies from 202 countries and markets and can convert them for your convenience.
You will be charged in GBP and PayPal will calculate your conversion rate. This may involve a small fee but it will be added to purchase upfront. The price you see before you complete the transaction is all you will ever pay.
Can I pay in instalments?
Payment is required in full when you register for the course.
However, students of our Award in STH course can contact us to discuss alternative payment options.
Can I pay for a course on someone else’s behalf?
Yes. You can pay for a course on someone else’s behalf, providing you have their full name and email address. Please email thrivelearn@thrive.org.uk before ordering on someone else’s behalf.
Do you offer any discounts for organisations who would like to pay for more than one place on a course?
Yes. We can often offer discounts to organisations who would like to book multiple places on one or more courses. To find out more, please email thrivelearn@thrive.org.uk
Is there any funding available for me to complete a course?
Because Social and Therapeutic Horticulture is an emerging profession, finding funding for training courses can be a challenge. It is often best to begin by searching for bursaries and grants in your locality or region of the UK. The following organisations and websites have provided funding for participants on our courses in the past:
Do you offer refunds or a money back guarantee?
As soon as you log in to a course with your username and password, you lose your right to cancel. Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.
If, however for any reason the course is not what you were expecting we’ll give you your money back, no questions asked, within the first 48 hours of you registering for your course.
About the Courses
When do the courses start?
Our courses are always available so you can buy and begin studying at any time.
Are the courses fully online?
Yes, these courses are all online. There is no need to visit a classroom or undertake any travel to complete the course.
Do I have to be online at a certain time?
No. We all have busy lives and the courses are designed in bitesize chunks to fit around you, no matter where in the world you happen to live.
Some of the activities, such as LiveChats, do take place at a certain time each week. If you are unable to join a LiveChat, please email thrivelearn@thrive.org.uk and we do our best to help.
Do I have to complete all of the assignments?
If you are studying the courses purely for your own interest, the assignments are optional.
If you would like to receive a certificate of achievement at the end of a course, you do have to complete a few mandatory activities.
Can I keep the course materials?
Yes. You can download and print off one copy of the slides and video transcripts for each course.
Please make sure you understand the intellectual property and copyright statements at the top of each document.
How long do I get access to the courses for?
Some of our courses give access for a fixed period (usually 40 days).
I am not sure if the course I am interested in is right for me. How can I find out more?
Please email thrivelearn@thrive.org.uk and we would be delighted to talk you through the content of a course.
If you are happy to tell us a little bit about your background and your aspirations, we will do our best to suggest a course that is right for you.
I need more time to complete a course. Do I have to re-register?
Yes. Technically you need to re-register once the 40 days is up.
However, please contact us on thrivelearn@thrive.org.uk and we can try our best to help.
If you would like to be able to access the discussion forums once you have completed the course, please contact us and we can arrange this for you.
Does it matter which country I’m from?
No. Our courses can be accessed almost anywhere in the world.
However, please note that courses are currently only available in English.
I have a disability, are your courses accessible?
As a disability charity, we understand the importance of accessibility and have tried to design courses that are easy to access.

Do you offer other training services?
Yes. Thrive is the main provider of training in gardening for health and wellbeing in the UK and we offer face-to-face training to 800-1000 professionals each year.
We also provide expert consultancy services, in-house training to organisations and a host of other services.
